Oasia Suites
KUALA LUMPUR
Brief
The Oasia brand tasked us to create a natural, peaceful environment for guests within the hustle and bustle of large cities. The aim was to achieve this presence upon arrival and carry it throughout the hotel including the 410 suites, pool area, gym and meeting rooms.
Result
For us to keep on brand, we translated what we had previously done in Oasia Singapore and adapted it to suit the new residence suites in Kuala Lumpor, Malaysia. We carried over natural materials such as timbers and neutral hues, along with the Malay, Indian, Chinese and Peranakan flavor. The neutral tone helped create that “getaway” feel within the busy city. A respite for out of town business people working within a bustling metropolis.
My Responsibilities
- Junior designer, worked with a senior designer and CAD technician
- Pitched initial project presentation to FarEast Developer, Singapore
- Gathered research from other Singapore Oasia branded hotel
- Created concept with senior designer
- Design development onto tender package with CAD technician
- Lead FF&E designer
- Coordinated with 3D visual artists to bring design to life
- Traveled to Malaysia every two weeks to run construction meetings
